Location was good - 2-3mins walk from Edinburgh Waverly. The hotel apartment is modern, clean and luxurious looking. Kitchen in the apartment is well stocked with cutlery, tableware and even cooking utensils - we didn’t cook, but it was nice to have. We extended our stay by a night and stayed in 2 types of apartments. First, “Deluxe apartment with balcony” - was very spacious, clean, comfortable and sound proof - perfect for a couple or 2 adults .. balcony was a nice touch, made the place feel very open. And the 2nd apartment was a “luxury one bedroom with bed alcove” - this was clean & modern too, but I wouldn’t recommend paying extra for the bed alcove apartments as the space is quite squeezed to fit in 2 bedrooms/2 bathroom. We had fresh breakfast everyday with amazing service (we paid for the breakfast included in room booking - go for this if you plan to eat in the hotel, otherwise it’s quite pricey if you pay a la carte). Overall Service is amazing - they have front desk staff who are quick to respond to queries, help bring up any deliveries to the apartment door, and just generally very kind, nice & sweet.

Welcoming from the reception, we're very kind, and they even greeted us for our anniversary. As we enter our room, they welcome us with a bottle of prosecco and dark chocolate. A very nice detail from the hotel for our anniversary. The room was not as described as the picture. According to the picture, the bed and bathroom were supposed to be at the second level. The one that was given to me, the bathroom was at the first level and bed in the second level. For my personal interest, I would have liked to have the bathroom on the same level as the picture. The stairs to the second level were a little bit steep and narrow. The bathroom shower had great water pressure, the best I ever had in a hotel. Breakfast is not a buffet. it is a la carte with only five options. It was ok. There was no AC in the room, but it was chill. The location is perfect, next to the Waverly Train station. Staff hotel 10/10 In general, The Cheval could be a great place to stay!

The location couldn't be more convenient. We took the train in from London and it was just around the corner from the train station, and a short walk or tram ride to everywhere we wanted to go. Our room overlooked the park and was well-appointed. They ended up being able to upgrade our room upon arrival, which was a nice surprise. The whole place has a warm and clean smell that is echoed in the hand soaps in the rooms. We didn't partake in breakfast or dining at the Cheval. Our kiddo loved her alcove room--a loft that overlooked the kitchen and dining area but still afforded her some privacy and space of her own. The staff were welcoming and friendly and answered our few questions. There was coffee and milk in the room, and the kitchen came with everything you'd need to make a quick meal or enjoy some wine or take out.

Wow, the Edinburgh Grand was everything we thought it would be and lots more having often admired it from outside. From the second we arrived on the pavement and were shown in by the lovely doorman to the most awesome welcome ever by Jo & Sam at the desk we were going to love our stay...and we absolutely did. Looking down from the 6th floor over the fabulous spiral of floors is amazing. Our apartment was immaculate, beautifully styled and so very comfortable and had absolutely everything you could need. We are delighted we chose to stay for New Year and as part of our 30th Wedding Anniversary celebrations as it is now a fabulous memory to cherish. Your Staff are up there with the absolute Best and we can't thank them enough for making our welcome & stay very special indeed.

The upgraded apartment waseverything we could have wished for. Well equipped (although we did not use the kitchen other to make hot drinks) and super comfortable. The ambience was quietly luxurious and just what we needed after a full on few months. Location perfect for both shopping and exploring the older parts of the city. Royal mile a short walk away. Staff all fantastic and really friendly. They took time to ask us about our stay and we were made to feel like valued guests. Breakfast was included in our stay and food and service both excellent. Nothing too much trouble and they certainly added to our experience. Will definitely return as still so much to see and do.
